Who is Capital for Scale designed for?

Capital for Scale is designed for investment professionals, trustees and decision-makers within pension funds, insurers, endowments and other institutional asset owners who are considering—or already developing—an allocation to European venture and growth capital.

Do I need previous venture capital experience?

No. The programme is designed for experienced institutional investors who may be new to venture and growth investing, as well as those seeking to deepen their existing knowledge. It starts with the strategic case and market evidence before progressing to portfolio construction, access routes, governance and manager due diligence.

What will I be able to do by the end of the programme?

You will be equipped to assess whether and how venture and growth capital could fit within your organisation’s portfolio. You will also leave with a draft IC or trustee paper, an initial allocation and pacing framework, and a practical 90-day implementation plan tailored to your institution.

How is the programme structured?

The programme combines six expert-led sessions, two practical implementation clinics and a closing event. Each session builds towards a concrete output, so participants progressively translate the learning into an institution-specific investment case.

What topics will the programme cover?

The curriculum covers the UK and European policy landscape, the role of venture and growth within an institutional portfolio, market and performance evidence, fund terms and access routes, portfolio construction and governance, and manager selection and due diligence.

How practical is the programme?

Capital for Scale is deliberately implementation-focused. Participants will work with practical blueprints, decision frameworks, case studies and institutional examples rather than simply attending a series of lectures. The clinics provide dedicated time to apply the material to participants’ own organisations.

Who will deliver the sessions?

The programme brings together experienced institutional allocators, venture and growth investors, governance and due-diligence specialists, legal experts and guest practitioners. Faculty contributions are selected for their practical relevance and first-hand experience of making, supporting or scrutinising allocation decisions.

What is the time commitment?

The programme runs over approximately ten weeks. Participants attend six learning sessions, two implementation clinics and a closing event, with manageable preparation between sessions. The staged format is designed to fit around demanding professional responsibilities.

What is the programme fee, and how can my organisation pay?

The participation fee is €5,000 per person. Organisations can pay by invoice and provide their usual finance or purchase-order details during registration. Card payment can also be made available where appropriate. A budget-approval letter is available to support internal training or professional-development requests.

What we collect

Identity and contact details: name, work email, job title, organisation, country.
Professional information: organisation type, years of experience, programme goals.
Booking and billing details: legal entity name, billing address and country, invoice email, VAT number, payment status.
The declarations and permissions you give in the registration form.
Participation records: attendance and the programme work you submit.

We do not record sessions.

Why we use it, and on what basis

To assess your registration and eligibility: taking steps at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in keeping the programme to asset owners and allocators.
To deliver the programme, communicate with you about it and administer your place: performance of the contract.
To issue invoices, take payments and keep accounting records: legal obligation and performance of the contract.
To send news about future programmes and events: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
To name you or your organisation as a participant: your separate consent or the consent of an authorised organisational representative, as applicable, which can be withdrawn for future use at any time. Declining or withdrawing optional marketing or publicity permissions does not affect eligibility or participation.

Who we share it with

Allocator Lens, our programme delivery partner, and session faculty, only to the extent needed to deliver the programme. Faculty receive participants’ names, roles and organisations, never billing data.
Service providers acting on our instructions: HubSpot (CRM and forms), Stripe (payments), Google Workspace (email and documents), Zoom or Microsoft Teams (video sessions), and our accounting provider.
Other participants see your name, role and organisation during sessions.
Authorities, where the law requires it.

We do not sell personal data or share applicant details with sponsors for their independent marketing under these Terms.

International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, we rely on an adequacy decision or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Registrations we decline: 12 months after the decision.
Participant records: three years after the cohort ends.
Accounting records: seven years, as Estonian law requires.
Marketing consent: until you withdraw it.
