Launchmetrics is a brand performance platform for the fashion, lifestyle and beauty industries. Its cloud software helps brands manage samples, events and press distribution, monitor media and influencers, and measure what their marketing returns. Lectra describes the platform as seven modules covering brand performance, campaign orchestration, effectiveness measurement and ROI.

TWO COMPANIES, ONE PLATFORM

Launchmetrics was formed in January 2016 by merging Fashion GPS, founded in 2006, and Augure, founded in 2002. Co-founders Michael Jaïs and Eddie Mullon led the combination. The company then grew by acquisition: Visual Box and Style Coalition in 2017, IMAXtree in 2019, PARKLU in 2020, and DMR in 2022, a business the company itself calls its main competitor.

THE INVESTMENT

Bpifrance Digital Venture made its first investment in 2015 at Series A, contributing €1.8 million. It invested €9.3 million in total across rounds. Serena, Cipio, Seventure and Famille C are among the co-investors in later rounds. Launchmetrics has raised €50 million in total.

GROWTH WITH PROFIT

By the time of the exit, the numbers were substantial. Since the investment, the company has created 298 jobs, as of January 2024. Lectra's announcement expected 2023 revenue of around $45 million, more than $40 million of it recurring, and an adjusted EBITDA of around $5 million. That revenue came from close to 1,700 customers in around 20 countries. The company counts 1,000 customers served.

THE EXIT

In January 2024, Lectra, the French fashion and industrial software group, announced it would acquire about 50.3% of Launchmetrics for about $85 million. It plans to buy the remaining capital in five stages between 2025 and 2030, and put the total price at between $200 million and $240 million. Bpifrance exited in 2024, at a value of €200 million.

At the last company I worked for, I felt that my career could not evolve more and I was not truly able to make any major executive decisions before I became more senior. I had higher aspirations and wanted to provide a software that would meet the needs of communication teams. So, I started my own company.
