Kuva Space is a Finnish deeptech company building satellites and AI to see the planet in ways optical and radar imaging can't. Its hyperspectral technology reads far more of the light spectrum than standard Earth observation, turning that data into insight for defence, agriculture, and beyond. Voima Ventures backed the company at seed in 2021, betting early on a team taking on one of the hardest engineering challenges in space tech.
A FAST-GROWING BET
That bet has grown fast. Kuva Space's valuation has grown 3.9x at its latest round, now valuing the company at €97 million, with a further round closing soon alongside a major pension fund. The company has raised €30 million to date and created 40 jobs since Voima's investment, as of September 2026.
DUAL-USE, FROM DEFENCE TO AGRICULTURE
The growth isn't just financial. Kuva Space has launched a defence segment and secured NATO access, opening the door to some of the most demanding customers in the world. On the civilian side, its Earth observation technology is already being used to monitor crop and other yields, with more than 30 terabytes of data scanned to support that work. The company's ambition is to scale to €300 million in revenue, giving Europe daily AI-driven insight that goes beyond what optical and SAR satellites alone can offer.

WHY THIS MATTERS
Kuva Space shows what patient, early-stage capital can unlock in deeptech. A seed cheque in 2021 helped build toward a company now valued at €97 million, with a genuine dual-use story: sovereign defence capability on one side, and practical, planet-scale agricultural insight on the other. NATO access and a pension-fund-backed round closing soon are strong signals that the market agrees.
