IQM Quantum Computing develops high-speed, high-fidelity superconducting quantum computers. It sells complete quantum computers to supercomputing centres and data centres, and offers cloud access to computing time. Its systems are deployed in Europe and in the United States.

FROM FOUR PEOPLE TO A GLOBAL PLAYER

When Ekaterina Almasque (former OpenOcean's GP) invested in 2019, IQM was a team of four people with several patents. It has since grown into a global player with contracts worldwide and commercial traction. The company has created 500 jobs since the investment, as of July 2026, and the number of customers rose from 8 in 2024 to 22 in 2025. Its team is based mainly in Espoo, Finland, with a large presence in Munich.

"Katya is a brilliant board member who has actively supported us on a variety of challenges including on go-to-market, fundraising, technology, and with software strategy."

Jan Goetz, Co-Founder & CEO

THE INVESTMENT

Ekaterina Almasque (former OpenOcean's GP) made the first investment in 2019 at Seed with €1.5 million. She has invested €8.5 million in total across rounds.
