FinQbit combines classical computing with emerging quantum technology to help financial institutions solve complex problems in risk. Its hybrid quantum-classical infrastructure supports derivatives pricing, interest rate modelling and market risk management in banks. The company is based in Poland.

FOUNDERS WHO LIVED THE PROBLEM

The team is solving a problem it faced first-hand. Its founders come out of the financial and risk management industry, and in a solution this advanced, that background matters enormously.

A WORKING PRODUCT, NOT A PROMISE

FinQbit is not selling a promise about the future. Its hybrid architecture runs on classical hardware and GPUs today, with measurable speed-ups on real risk and pricing workloads. The same models can move to quantum processors as the hardware matures. The company was generating revenue within two years of its founding, which is rare in deep tech.

"Bank boards care about three things: profit, cost and risk. What we do addresses all three."

Tomasz Ćwik, Founder

THE INVESTMENT

28DIGITAL made its first investment in finQbit in 2023 at seed, and the company remains in its portfolio. FinQbit developed through 28DIGITAL's Venture Incubation Program. The fund now marks its position at a 42.1x multiple, unrealized, against a valuation of about €20 million. FinQbit has raised €4 million in total.

A EUROPEAN DEAL: ITALY, LONDON AND POLAND

In September 2026, Mediobanca invested in finQbit through MB Speedup, its joint venture with London-based company builder Founders Factory. Terms were not disclosed, but the transaction values the company at about €20 million. Founders Factory is providing strategic and operational support as finQbit prepares to expand internationally. Zbigniew Jagiełło, former CEO of PKO Bank Polski and one of the key figures behind Poland's BLIK instant payment system, has joined the advisory board.

PROOF WITH THE BANKS

FinQbit has presented its findings to the quant teams at J.P. Morgan, HSBC and ING. It also reached the final stage of the CDL Quantum programme in Canada, one of six startups to do so, and has been through programmes including Techstars and the Creative Destruction Lab.

WHAT'S NEXT

The main objective of the latest funding is research and commercial expansion.
