Emmi AI develops universally applicable, AI-driven physics simulation models that transform engineering and manufacturing across industries. Its platform replaces traditional numerical solvers with deep learning models, so simulations that once took days or weeks can run in seconds. Target industries include aerospace, automotive, energy and semiconductors.

A RECORD SEED ROUND

In April 2025, Emmi AI raised a €15 million seed round, the largest seed investment ever for an Austrian startup. 3VC led the round with €5 million. Speedinvest, PUSH VC and Serena Capital invested alongside it. The company spun out of Johannes Kepler University Linz and the AI research lab NXAI.

"I've had the pleasure witnessing firsthand how genuinely committed 3VC are to supporting founders and consistently creating meaningful value. What I particularly value is how effectively they challenge us on strategic matters-always constructively pushing us to think bigger, smarter and sharper."

EIGHT TIMES THE TEAM IN TWELVE MONTHS

After the investment, Emmi AI grew its team 8x within twelve months, hiring leading AI researchers. It released two groundbreaking physical AI models, published several top-rated academic papers and closed multiple large enterprise contracts. The company has created 50 jobs since the investment, as of October 2026.

THE INVESTMENT

3VC made its first investment in 2025 at Seed, putting in €5 million, which is also its total investment. Speedinvest, PUSH VC and Serena Capital are the co-investors. Emmi AI has raised €15 million in total.

JOINING MISTRAL AI

In May 2026, Mistral AI signed a definitive agreement to acquire Emmi AI. The co-founders and a team of more than 30 researchers and engineers join Mistral's Science and Applied AI teams. Together they aim to extend Mistral's models to understand and model physics, to let AI agents use existing engineering tools, and to offer manufacturers a single integrated AI platform. Financial terms have not been disclosed.

WHAT'S NEXT

The main objective of the latest funding was to productize physical AI models for advanced simulations. With Mistral AI, that work now reaches industrial enterprises in sectors such as aerospace, automotive and semiconductors.
